For the Sins I Can Remember
You are invited to Vagabond Inventions’ latest creation, For the Sins I Can Remember, at the IRT Theater.
“You ask what love is to me, a woman of the streets,
hated by man, woman, and god? I will tell you…”
This new movement-theater work is inspired by the celebrated letters of turn-of-the-century prostitute Maimie Pinzer and tales from the red light districts across the US during the Victorian Era. These true stories of history’s underside weave through a Brechtian death trial, Victorian etiquette lessons, live, original music, a smut song, and movement work that grew from improvisations in rivers in the Catskill Mountains. Watch this behind-the-scenes video
, and come out to the West Village and see the show!
